Everyone has heard of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts School. As Potterheads we all have at least once dreamt of getting a letter from Hogwarts & going to that magical place. But, Did you know about India’s own ‘Hogwarts like architecture!’ Well yes, the Junagadh Buddhist Caves located in Junagadh district of Gujarat (India) is one perfect example. These are a group of 3 man-made caves- Uparkot, Khapra Kodia & Baba Pyare caves that were built as early as 1st-4th century AD. These caves are carved out from living rocks. The cave also referred to as Uparkot (which means built on an upraised platform) is divided into chambers which are connected through stairs. The group of caves consist of 3 tiers & the caves of Uparkot are cut into 2 floors. There is a big chamber constructed in Chaitya style with pillars supporting the roof. TIPS ON FILLING YOUR VEHICLES ΓΌ Only buy or fill up your vehicle with fuel in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold- Remember that all service stations have their storage tank buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands. So buying in the afternoon or in the evening your liter is not exactly a liter. ΓΌ One of the most important tips is to fill up when your vehicle’s tank is half full- The reason for this is that the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air is occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof which serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
